The Machu Picchu circuits, explained

The citadel is now visited through three circuits and eleven routes. Here's what each one gives you, how hard it sells out, and which of our tours use it — so you can pick the right ticket with confidence.

Panoramic

Circuit 1 — Panoramic

The high route for that classic aerial view over the citadel, plus the option to climb Machu Picchu Mountain (route 1-A) for the widest panorama of all. Best for photographers and strong walkers.

Sells out: Moderate · Includes Machu Picchu Mountain
Most popular

Circuit 2 — Classic

The full tour of the citadel and the postcard viewpoint everyone pictures. The single most requested ticket — and the first to sell out in high season. Book early.

Sells out: Fast (2–3 months) · The postcard shot
Royalty · Climbs

Circuit 3 — Royalty (lower)

The lower royalty sector, and the gateway to the add-on climbs: Huayna Picchu (route 3-A) and Huchuy Picchu (3-D), plus the Gran Caverna / Temple of the Moon (3-C). Huayna Picchu is legendary — and books months ahead.

Sells out: Huayna Picchu very fast · Includes the climbs
Simple & safe

Machu Picchu availability FAQ

How far in advance do Machu Picchu tickets sell out?

In high season (May–September) the most popular options — Circuit 2 (Classic postcard view) and Huayna Picchu — routinely sell out 2 to 3 months ahead. Circuit 1 and Circuit 3 usually have wider availability, but weekends and holidays still fill quickly. Book as soon as your travel dates are fixed.

What are the Machu Picchu circuits?

Since June 2024 the citadel is organised into three circuits with several routes. Circuit 1 is the panoramic route and includes Machu Picchu Mountain. Circuit 2 is the classic full tour with the famous postcard viewpoint. Circuit 3 covers the lower royalty sector and includes the Huayna Picchu and Huchuy Picchu climbs.

Is the availability shown here official?

Yes. Entry availability to Machu Picchu is public information managed by Peru's Ministry of Culture. Our calendar reflects that source and is refreshed several times a day. It shows each date as Available or Sold out — we don't display exact ticket counts.

Can INKANET ADVENTURE book my tickets for me?

Absolutely. As a licensed Cusco tour operator we secure your official entry ticket together with train, bus and a professional guide, so you don't have to navigate the government platform yourself. Message us on WhatsApp with your date and preferred circuit and we'll confirm availability and hold your spot.

Can I change the date or get a refund on my ticket?

No. Official Machu Picchu entry tickets are non-refundable and the date and entry time cannot be changed. That's exactly why checking availability and booking the right circuit the first time matters — and why it helps to have us handle it.

Don't gamble on the day of your trip

Tickets to the wonder sell out weeks ahead and can't be rebooked. Send us your dates and preferred circuit — we'll confirm live availability and secure your entry today.
