Rainbow Mountain is the dramatic, demanding choice: an early start, a hike above 5,000 m and scenery unlike anywhere else — but it is a long, high-altitude day best attempted once you are well acclimatized, which day four allows. Maras & Moray is gentler and lower, pairing the surreal circular agricultural terraces of Moray with the white salt pans of Maras, and it suits travelers who would rather not push to extreme altitude.
