En route, we traversed picturesque villages including Chinchero and Urubamba, arriving in Ollantaytambo after approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. There, we boarded the train bound for Aguas Calientes, a journey of equal duration, immersing ourselves in the mesmerizing landscapes of the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we transferred to a bus destined for the awe-inspiring Inca city of Machu Picchu, where we embarked on a comprehensive guided tour lasting about 4 hours. Exploring the ancient ruins, we marveled at the architectural wonders and soaked in the rich history of this mystical site. After our exploration, we descended back to Aguas Calientes, where a delicious lunch awaited. Following a brief respite, we made our way to the train station to catch our return journey to Ollantaytambo. From there, we boarded a bus back to Cusco city, reaching our lodgings at approximately 9:30 PM.
