Early Morning Pickup in Cusco: Pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 3:45–4:15 a.m. or from the Sacred Valley for your Machu Picchu 1 Day Tour.
Drive to Ollantaytambo Station: Scenic 1h 45min drive to Ollantaytambo train station, enjoying Andean landscapes as the sun rises.
Train to Km 104: Board train around 6:40 a.m. to Km 104, the starting point of your Inca Trail hike.
Meet Your Guide and Start Hiking: At Km 104, meet your local guide, check in at the Inca Trail control point, and begin your trek.
Hiking to Wiñaywayna: Steady climb from 2,000 m / 6,562 ft to 2,700 m / 8,858 ft, about 3 hours, to the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna.
Lunch and Tour of Wiñaywayna: Explore Wiñaywayna ruins, learn Inca history, and enjoy lunch before continuing on a mostly flat trail to Intipunku (Sun Gate).
Early Morning Start: Wake up at 4:30 AM and have breakfast at 5:00 AM before heading to the bus station in Aguas Calientes.
Bus to Machu Picchu: Catch one of the first buses at 5:30 AM. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes to the main entrance.
Machu Picchu Tour: Arrive at 6:00 AM and explore the lower part of Machu Picchu. Guided tour lasts 2.5 hours, covering all major sites.
Free Time and Mountain Hike: After the tour, enjoy 30 minutes to explore on your own. Optionally, hike Waynapicchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (one mountain only). Waynapicchu hike takes 2–2.5 hours.
Return to Aguas Calientes: Take the bus back (~30 minutes). Free time for lunch, walking around the town, or relaxing.
Train to Ollantaytambo: Board the train around 2:30 PM or 2:55 PM for a 1.5-hour ride to Ollantaytambo.
Transfer to Cusco: Upon arrival, a transfer will take you back to Cusco in 2 hours, arriving at your hotel in the late afternoon.
