Day 1: In the morning, we’ll depart from Ollantaytambo to km. 82 and ascend to the campsite. Distance: Approximately 8.7 miles / 14 km Elevation: 3,300 meters / 10,829 feet Difficulty: Moderate difficulty day.

Day 2: We’ll start early to hike through the cloud forest to the Dead Woman’s Pass, then descend. Distance: Approximately 7.5 miles / 12 km Elevation: 3,600 meters / 11,800 feet Difficulty: Challenging day.

Day 3: We’ll rise early to trek the most photogenic stretch of the trail. Distance: Approximately 9.9 miles / 16 km Elevation: 3,680 meters / 12,073 feet Difficulty: Moderate.

Day 4: We’ll depart early in the morning (3 a.m.) to reach the entry checkpoint and walk for 1-2 hours to the Sun Gate and Machu Picchu. Distance: Approximately 3.1 miles / 5 km Difficulty: You’re halfway at Machu Picchu, and should be hopping, skipping, and jumping your way.

Please note that if you are booking with a passport that will expire within the next 6 months from your intended arrival date in Peru, you will be required to renew your passport before visiting the country. Peruvian authorities will not grant entry if your passport is close to expiration. If you are booking your trip with us and this applies to your situation, you may proceed with the booking to secure your permits for the Inca Trail and tickets to Machu Picchu. However, you will need to update your passport information with us before your trip to Peru. Failure to do so may result in losing your reserved permits and Machu Picchu tickets.
