Puno, Uros Floating Islands and Amantani homestay
A morning pickup takes you to the port for a boat to the Uros Floating Islands, where you meet the Uros people and learn how they build their reed islands and boats.
Continue to Amantani Island for a warm homestay with a local family, a hike to the Pachatata and Pachamama temples for a magical sunset, and an evening of traditional food and folklore.
After breakfast with your host family, sail to Taquile Island, famed for its UNESCO-listed textile art. A gentle hike past terraced fields and ancient ruins reveals sweeping views of Lake Titicaca.

Acclimatize in Cusco first
Spend a day or two in Cusco (3,400 m) before high-altitude excursions. Hydrate well, eat light, drink coca tea and avoid alcohol. Our guides carry oxygen and support on every climb.
Physical fitness
Easy to moderate. Most of the trip is by boat. On Amantani and Taquile there are short uphill walks on stone paths at around 3,800–4,000 m; walk slowly and drink plenty of water.
Best time to go
Lake Titicaca can be visited all year. From May to October skies are clear and nights very cold; from December to March afternoon showers are common, but the islands are green and quiet.
Sun & weather
At 3,812 m the sun on the lake is intense, and the reflection on the water makes it stronger. Bring sunscreen SPF 50+, a hat and sunglasses, and a warm jacket: mornings and nights on the lake are cold.
